  • Supply & Donation List for 2014-15 School Year Now Available

    Another school year is underway, and Union Grove families will find what they need for back-to-school supplies. There is also a list of items that will gladly be accepted as donations for the school. Thank you in advance for having your child prepared and for supporting our school community.

  • Buy One Get One FREE Book Fair, May 12-16

    The final book fair of the school year will be May 12-16, 2014. This will be a buy one get one FREE book fair. Family Night will be Tuesday, May 13 from 4:00-6:00 PM. It will close at 12:00 PM on Friday. The PTO has purchased one book per student for summer reading!

  • Glow & Grow Conferences and Basket Raffle on May 19, 2014

    K-5 students will have the opportunity to "glow and grow" during their student-led conferences on Monday, May 19 from 4:00-6:00 PM in their classrooms. Students will be showing off their work to their parents/guardians noting strengths (glow) and their needs for improvement (grow). A free hot dog dinner will be provided for families from 5:00-7:00 PM. We hope you'll join us for this special time.

  • Fiddler's Grove 3rd Annual Tiger Trot 5K & Fun Run

    Fiddler's Grove is sponsoring the 3rd annual Tiger Trot 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, May 10 beginning at 8:00 AM. All net proceeds will benefit Union Grove School.

  • Read Across America Week, March 3-7

    Join us March 3-7 in our celebration of Read Across America! In 1998 the National Education Association held the first celebration that would pump up children and adults and get them excited about reading! To honor someone who has always encouraged children to read, they decided to have the celebration on the birthdate of Dr. Seuss, which is March 2nd.

  • Union Grove Partners with the Statesville Applebee's for Cancer Research

    On March 3rd, the Statesville Applebee's will kick off its annual March Madness Fundraiser in support of The V Foundation for Cancer Research. This year Union Grove School has chosen to partner with Applebee's to reach their store goal of $4,000 during the first three weeks in March. Each child can show support for his or her favorite college basketball team by personalizing a paper basketball to hang in the restaurant by simply donating as little as $1.

  • Scholastic Book Fair, Feb. 24-28

    The Book Fair will be open everyday, Feb. 24-28 from 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM. Mrs. Reese will also host a Family Night on Tuesday, Feb. 25 all day until 6:00 PM.   • 2nd/3rd Grade Parent Night, December 12 at 5:00 PM

    Attention all parents of current 2nd and 3rd grade students! There will be a very important meeting concerning the new Read to Achieve Legislation on Thursday, December 12 at 5:00 PM in the school's cafeteria. Principal, Kelley James, will be providing information about this new law that requires all students to be reading at or above grade level by the end of 3rd grade. Children can report to the music room while parents attend the meeting.

  • Mini Dance-a-Thon Benefit for the UNC Children's Hospital, December 19

    There will be a Mini Dance-a-Thon, with D.J. Craig Shore, to benefit the UNC Children's Hospital Thursday, December 19th after school until 4:30 PM. There will be a $2.00 admission charge, but additional donations will be accepted and appreciated. Participants will need to have a signed permission form completed and turned in before the event.
