Sound to the Sea: FIELD TRIP Next Fall (2017) for 7th grade students!

Dear Parents of Rising 7th Grade Students,

We are VERY excited to announce that the Rising 7th Graders will be going to “Sound to Sea” in the Fall of 2017. 

The first informational meeting was held on Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00pm in the Lakeshore Middle School Cafeteria.    Please see the additional details below! 

Lakeshore Middle School  Fall, 2017 -  RISING 7th Grade “Sound To Sea” Trip

In October, 2017 the upcoming 7th grade students will be going to Sound to Sea-Trinity Center in Pine Knoll Shores (Outer Banks), North Carolina.  This is an awesome opportunity for the students to learn firsthand about several habitats located at Sound to Sea.  We’ll explore the pond, the salt marsh, the sound, the ocean, the maritime forest and dissect sea life.  The students will also have a great time working together on the challenge course and participating in various team building activities. We have personally been on this trip and it is an awesome educational opportunity!!  Additional information may also be found on the Sound to Sea website.(www.trinityctr.com/soundtosea

Trip Date:  October 25-27, 2017 

Trip Fee:  $350.00 per student & per chaperone.  The fee includes transportation via charter buses, 7 meals & snacks, accommodations and 8 classes & activities at Sound to Sea.  The students will be staying in dorms, 12 kids per room along with teachers and chaperones. 

Informational Meeting Date:  Please join us on Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00pm in the Cafeteria.

Deposit Due Dates: 

1.     Commitment Form & Initial Non-Refundable Deposit ($125.00) Due:  March 30, 2017. The Commitment Form is posted on the school homepage.  

2.     Deposit #2 – Non-Refundable ($125.00) is Due:   Wednesday, May 10th.

3.     Final Non-Refundable Payment ($100.00) is Due:  Tuesday, June 6th.

We encourage you to be prompt in submitting your child’s Commitment Form and deposits due to the limited number of spaces (beds) at Sound to Sea.  Therefore, reservations/deposits will be accepted on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis.  The preferred method of payment is online on the school homepage.  Checks will also be accepted.  Please make them payable to Lakeshore Middle School.  Deposits and the Commitment Form may be turned in to Mrs. Tahsler (7th/8th Grade Social Studies Teacher) or to the office to the attention of Lisa VanBuhler, Sound to Sea Trip Coordinator.
