NEST (Network to Expand Student Access): Partnership with Iredell County Public Library Provides Digital Access

Iredell-Statesville Schools is proud to announce the partnership between the Iredell County Library system and the District.  NEST (Network to Expand Student Access) is a student library card system that allows all Iredell-Statesville Schools students and teachers to use print and online materials from the Iredell County Public Library. With these accounts, all ISS Students are automatically registered for fine-free library accounts with the ICPL system through the use of their student ID numbers. The account will allow students and teachers to check out digital materials, such as e-books, e-audiobooks, and digital magazines, and up to 10 print items without any late fines or fees.  Furthermore, they will have access to the library’s research database and online resources such as NC Live, the Pronunciator, and Learning Express.  These resources are extremely useful for 6th-12th graders as part of ISS’s one-to-one initiative with MacBooks.
Iredell-Statesville Schools Superintendent Brady Johnson said "I applaud the efforts of  Dr. David Blattner, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Director of Media Services and our local library leadership and their staffs in working with our District to make accessible all resources within the Library system.  This is a huge win for our students."
Parents who do not wish for their children to participate in this program can opt-out using the form provided here.  NEST Access
