5th graders are required by law to get a Tdap vaccine prior to entering 6th grade. Kindergarten students will need a complete immunization record and a N.C. Yearbooks are now on sale for $15. Students may begin bringing in money and giving it to their teachers. Please be aware that we sold out of yearbooks last year and we are anticipating that happening again this year. Only those who pay for a yearbook in advance will be guaranteed one. Checks should be made out to Union Grove Elementary. If you still have Spring Pictures, your yearbook order will not be taken until either the pictures or the money for the pictures is returned. The PTO needs you! The PTO will be electing new officers for the upcoming 2013-14 school year on Tuesday, May 7 at 6:00 PM in the Union Grove Elementary School Library. All parents are invited to attend and encouraged to get involved.
Jump Rope for the Heart participants raised $387.25 for the American Heart Association. Way to go!
Union Grove would like to thank in advance the Subway of Union Grove and the Chic-fil-a of Statesville for hosting a night that benefits Union Grove Elementary. 10% of the sales at Subway on March 11 and 20% of all proceeds at Chic-fil-a on March 12 will benefit our school.

With the help of the Girl Scouts, Union Grove will be observing Red Ribbon Week October 23-31, 2011. The theme for this year's campaign is "It's UP to ME to BE DRUG FREE!" Please help your child support this effort by participating in these activities, as explained to all of the students by guidance counselor, Teresa Kutteh.
On September 22, 2011, students, their families, and staff members raised over $500 in support of UG teacher, Jennifer Pharr, and her family. Conner’s Crew walked in a Buddy Walk on October 1 in Charlotte to help raise awareness for individuals with Down syndrome.
Parent Assistant is a web-based program available to the parents of Iredell-Statesville Schools. Parents can log in at any time from any computer to their child's account. It allows parents to access grades, attendance reports, and personal information.
Once again, several area churches and businesses have graciously donated supplies for UG students this year. Churches include: Union Grove United Methodist, Smith Chapel, Mt.
