Gracyn Millsaps, a fourth grade student at Celeste Henkel Elementary, was chosen by audition as one of the 197 elementary music students in North Carolina  to perform in the 2012 All-State Honors Chorus. The Honors Chorus performed six selections in the Stevens Center Auditorium in Winston-Salem on Sunday, November 11 during the North Carolina Music Educators State Conference under the direction of Dr. Angela Broeker, Director of Choral Activities at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Millsaps' performance included several languages: English, Hebrew, and Spanish.  In preparation for this event, Millsaps rehearsed several weeks after school with her music teacher, Janet Berry.  All of Millsaps' music had to be prepared and memorized.  For more information about the 2012 All-State Honors Chorus visit, their website.
