Miss Jennifer McLain, a student at North Iredell Middle School has organized “An Afternoon of Music” to benefit Iredell Christian Ministries. McLain along with other students will take the stage on Sunday, November 11that 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Statesville, NC.
Student performers include:

Violet Beaty from Northview School
Scarlet Chapman from South Iredell High School
Harrison Deaton from Mooresville Middle School
Jennifer McLain from North Iredell Middle School
Chandler Terry from Statesville High School
Lorenzo Zapata from Statesville High School
McLain explains that this event started last year when she was preparing a service project for a national pageant she was competing in. She decided she wanted to do something to give back to her community.
“I wanted to do something to support my community,” explained Jennifer McLain. “After visiting Iredell Christian Ministries and seeing the empty shelves, I knew they had a need. Our church currently supports Iredell Christian Ministries and so it seemed like a perfect fit.”
After sponsoring a successful event which led to $864 dollars raised for Iredell Christian Ministries, Jennifer was asked to consider holding the event the following year.
“We really hope that the concert will raise more money and help support more families in Iredell County than the previous year,” stated McLain.
An offering for Iredell Christian Ministries will be taken during the concert.
