Welcome to Fifth Grade!  We look forward to an exciting and challenging year.   We will be studying a lot of topics in the fifth grade.  In Science we will be studying biomes, ecosystems, weather & climate, force & motion, and the human body.  In Social Studies we will be studying the United States, Canada, and Central America.  We will cover many topics in Math and Reading.  We do a lot of work with fractions, geometry, and problem solving.  All fifth grade students will take an EOG in Reading, Math, and Science this year.  Our goal is for everyone to score a 3 or 4 on these tests.

 

 

Our class will work hard to become better role models to others at our school.  We will try to inspire others by being successful in achieving the goals that we set.  We will all be leaders! 

 

I am married and have two children. I graduated from Appalachian State University.  I have been teaching at East Elementary for 21 years.  I love teaching fifth grade at East Elementary and working with the children at this school.  We have a great school.  I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my sons play sports.  I also enjoy reading during my free time.
