My Classroom Mission

As an Art Educator, My mission is too expose students to the world of Visual Art in a way that sparks interest and excitement!  I will introduce them to concepts, people, vocabulary, and movements from all over the world.  I want to help them develop and refine their own skills and push them to realize their own ability to do well in the creation of art!  I have a relaxed and inviting classroom environment where all students have the opportunity to be successful.
 
About Me

I am new to North Iredell Middle and have loved every moment so far! I am originally from Salisbury, Maryland and have an Art degree from Wingate University in NC.  I'm in my 10th year of art teaching and am a practicing artist on the side specializing in portraiture and murals.  My talent, along with my love for art and kids gives me a great basis to work from in my teaching.  I think middle school students are fabulous and I look forward to the challenge of pulling out their creativity, and for many.. ability they never knew they had!
