This is my second year as a third grade teacher at Shepherd Elementary School.  I graduated from Appalachian State University, with my Bachelors in Elementary Education, in May of 2011.  I worked at Celeste Henkel Elementary School for eight years as a teaching assistant while I attended College.  While working at Celeste, I fell in love with the excitement of watching children learn and witnessing their "aha" moments.  I know in my heart that teaching is where I belong.  I am looking forward to this challenging and exciting new school year.

 

     I am married to Tony.  We have been married for 23 years this November 2012.  We have two sons together, Samuel 20 and Philip 19.  Samuel will be attending UNCC this fall.  Philip will be attending Mitchell Community College this fall.
