My Classroom Mission
My mission is for all of my Algebra II students to make proficiency on the EOC and learn all essential concepts on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study so that they will be well prepared for their next Math course. My mission for my Technical Math students is to encourage them to do their best, accomplish all requirements for graduation, and be prepared for their future in college, military or the work force. We will work together to create a comfortable learning environment.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Tift College and my Accounting degree from the State University of New York at Oswego. I have taught mathematics in Georgia, Florida, Texas, Alabama and Saudi Arabia. I worked in public accounting in California. I have been teaching in the Iredell Statesville school system for the last 12 years.
My husband's job with Kewaunee Scientific brought us to Statesville. We have two children, a son and daughter, and twin granddaughters. Our son and his wife and daughters live in Hendersonville, NC where he works as a real estate attorney in Asheville. Our daughter lives in Saint Louis, MO and works for American Airlines.
