My Classroom Mission

My first goal as a teacher is help students learn to think.  I see this skill as the one thing that will ensure success in life, no matter what path a person chooses.
 
 
About Me

I graduated from WIHS in 1993 and received my bachelor's degree in English and philosophy from Duke University in 1997.  I came back to West to teach in 2005. I teach Eng. II, III, and IV, serve as the advisor for the Beta Club and I am currently serving as the Chair of the English Department.  I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2007 and I am now working toward my Master's degree in school administration at Gardner-Webb University.
