My Classroom Mission

To help all ESL students to  become successful readers, writers, and English speakers in order to achieve their academic and social goals.  I also want to serve as a bridge between my students' own culture and the American culture.
   

 
Mrs. Jimenez' background

   I am from Popayan, a small town in Colombia. I have been in the United States for 8 years.  I first came with a teacher exchange program.   I' m a graduate from the University of Cauca in Colombia with a bachelor degree in K-12 English and French. I also have a Master's degree in TESOL from the Greensboro College. 
    I taught English as a foreign language in Colombia for 4 years. I lived in France for 1 year working as a Spanish assistant at several schools in Bergerac, France.  I worked at a high school in Rockingham county as a Spanish and French teacher for 3 years.  I have been in Iredell county working as an ESL teacher for West midde and high.  I teach grades 6-12.  
   I love the interaction with people from all around the world.  I enyoy reading, hiking, and doing outdoor activities.  I'm very satisfied to be part of the ESL students' life and to work in the Iredell community.
