SIHS BAND HANDBOOK 2012




 
 
Band Boosters meetings are at 7pm in the SIHS Band Room on the following dates:
 
 
June 4th
 
 
Jazz Band practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

 Band and Chorus Mission Statement

We, the SIHS BAND AND CHORUS, strive at ALL TIMES to have all materials, listen without talking, learn our music, learn our marching moves and skills, attend all practices and perfomances, and always keep a positive attitude.  We as ONE ENSEMBLE will use all of our efforts as individuals and as a group to earn a ratingS of Superior at 
 competitions, festivals and to perform excellent concerts.
 
BAND and CHORUS RULES
  1. BE ON TIME
  2. BE PREPARED WITH ALL YOUR MATERIALS AT ALL TIMES!!!!
  3. BE RESPECTFUL TO OTHERS AND OTHER PEOPLE’S PROPERTY.
  4. NO AGENDA=NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE CLASS!!!!
  5. NO GUM!!!!
  6. NO FOOD OR DRINKS!!!
  7. NO TALKING WHILE MRS. PARKER OR THE DRUM MAJOR IS TALKING!!!
  8. FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS QUICKLY AND QUIETLY!!!
  9. ALL PUT YOUR MATERIALS AWAY AND CLEAN UP ALL TRASH.
  10.   ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS HAVE A PENCIL!!!!

About Me - Jill Barron Parker
 
Jill Barron

I graduated from Appalachian University with a degree in Music Education, Piano Performance and a minor in Psychology.  While at Appalachian I studied with Mr. Robert Clark. 
This is my 10th year teaching band and chorus at South Iredell High School.
