GENERAL INFORMATION
Lake Norman High School Chapter  was chartered in Fall of 2002.  Students who are members of NHS must maintain 4.25 GPA each semester, act as leaders in the school and community, and perform 60 hours of community service per calendar year.
Faculty Advisor:Amanda Stowe  email:  astowe@iss.k12.nc.us
Meeting Times:Alternating Mondays at 7:45 am or 3:15pm in room 456.  Members choose which meeting to attend.
Activities:
Students have their own service projects through which they earn the majority of the 60 service hours required per calendar year.
Chapter projects include item drive for Angel Tree families (fall) and Awake-a-thon (spring)
How to become a member:Students are tapped for membership by demonstrating excellence in 4 areas - scholarship, leadership, character, and service.  In the fall, students with 4.25 cummulative GPA are given the chance to submit for review their evidence of leadership, character, and service.  The Faculty Council then reviews the material and invites those who excel in these areas to become a member.  Student reviews are done once a year and students may be eligible each year they make the GPA.
Membership is kept in good standing by the following:
Maintaining a 4.25 GPA or better each semester
Completing 60 service hours per calendar year
Being a member of a committee
Attendance at all meetings - general and committee
Attendance at all chapter events
CURRENT ISSUES:
Congratulations to the newest members of NHS!
