About Me

Hello and welcome to second grade! I am looking forward to a fun-filled learning experience and hope you and your child are as well.
I have been teaching for 7 years. This will be my third year teaching 2nd grade at Woodland Heights. I have taught 3rd grade for 2 years (one year in SC and one year in TN) and three years in first grade here at WHE. I graduated from the University of South Carolina (GO GAMECOCKS!!!). I have been married for six years. I have two major hobbies that I enjoy; my daughter Caroline and USC football!!! I am originally from Campobello, South Carolina, which is very close to Spartanburg. My first teaching job was at my former elementary school teaching 3rd grade. When Brad and I married, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee. In TN I taught 3rd grade at Lipscomb Elementary. We moved here five years ago for my husbands job at Lowe's Coorperate. He has since started to work with a Lowe's vendor called Sedgwick CMS handling work compensation claims for Lowe's stores.
I am very excited to get to know each parent and student!! We are going to have a WONDERFUL year. If you need me at any time please email me at rburry@iss.k12.nc.us. I check my email throughout the day and at home.
