I am delighted to have your child in my class. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and fun. We will be working together to give your child the skills they need to have a successful year, as well as continue that success throughout their school career.
Thank you for sharing your child with me this year! I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions/comments/concerns.
Classroom Mission
Mrs. Smith's 4th graders will have fun learning new things while doing our best and achieving honor roll each quarter in order to pass the EOG's the first time with a 3 or 4. We can do this by working hard and communicating well with each other.
About Me
My name is Kirsten Smith and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year. I grew up in Durham, North Carolina. I received my undergraduate and Master's degrees from Appalachian State University. After teaching 6th grade in Virginia for 5 years, I was excited to return home to North Carolina to teach at Woodland Heights Elementary. This is my 7th year at WHE. I taught 4th grade for 4 years , 1year 2nd grade and 1 year 3rd grade. I and happy to return to the 4th grade fold!
My husband, Mark Smith, is a firefighter for Mooresville. We have two children, Emma Grace and Henry. Gracie is a 1st grader in Mrs. Forth's class and Henry is a kinder in Mrs. Wagner's class. I love having my children at the school with me! We also have a German Shepherd, Reiko, who seems to always be in a puppy stage.
Working together-- parent, teacher, student-- will ensure a terrific, successful year. Parents and teacher staying in contact ensures that success. The planner is a wonderful communicator between home and school. I also utilize email, work folders, as well as updating my webpage, to keep parents informed of and involved in what is going on in the classroom. Please feel free to contact me with questions, comments or concerns.
