My Classroom Mission

We have an orchestra theme in our room, so our mission statement may not sound like normal statements.  Different parts of what an orchestra does is explained more fully in the room to the students so that they understand the mission statement as it compares to an orchestra. 
 
 
"In Mrs. York's class, we will focus on the sheet music so that we can move onto harder pieces.  We will work hard to practice our sheet music by making sure we hit all the notes.  By using our music reviews, we will help other players to improve our sound.  We will follow the conductor's lead so that we will have an awesome final concert!

My name is Jennifer York.  I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Gardner-Webb University.  I also have a minor in Sign Language.  I am originally from Maryland.  After graduation, I got married and moved to Statesville.  This will be my fourteenth year working for the Iredell-Statesville School System.  I have also had teaching experience in Rutherford County.  I want all my students to be successful in school and in life.  I hope to teach your child not only fifth grade skills but skills that will help them be successful for the rest of their life.  Parents, I need your help!  "Together We Can" make a difference in your child's life!
