Welcome to my classroom! This year we have a 1st Grade class. I will challenge your children to be the best students that they can be and learn all they can. This will be an exciting year as we work to learn as much as we can about Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies. We will also be learning more about Letterland and how our Letterland friends can help us to be very good readers. Come and visit and see what we are learning!
My Classroom Mission
My mission this year is to assist children to learn as much as they possibly can to prepare them for continuing their education in the coming years.
About Me
My name is Anita Baldwin. I was born in Southwest Nebraska and grew up in the Midwest. I am the oldest of six children and was responsible for my siblings as we grew up. I am excited to teach at Union Grove Elementary. This is a very special school and we have so many teachers and helpers to help children learn.
I have been teaching at Union Grove for the last 12 years. I have taught 10 1/2 years in 1st grade and 4 years in Kindergarten and 1 year in 2nd grade. Before I came to teach in Union Grove, I taught 1st grade at Troutman Elementary.
I have one son and one step-son, There are 5 grandchildren of whom I'm very proud. Chelsey and Wesley have both graduated from high school, Garrett and Lindsey are still in high school and MaKylie is 8 months old.
I enjoy playing the piano and organ at church, singing in the choir, reading, and knitting and crocheting afgans, and baby items, as well as sweaters and scarves. I also have several antique "hit and miss" engines that I enjoy showing and telling the history of their use. These are part of the collection that my late husband and I collected together.
