Welcome to the
Media Center!
 
 
We will be learning new and wonderful things throughout the year. Our focus this year will be on integrating information literacy and the students' grade level curriculum.
 
 
Media Center Mission
The media center will be used as a tool for all of the people in the school, developing student and staff information literacy and leadership skills.
 
About Ms. McCormick

I am a transplant from Rochester, NY. I went to school at SUNY College at Geneseo (a state college), where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English. Right after graduation, I went to graduate school at the University at Buffalo. In February 2007, I received my Masters of Library Science.
 
After graduation, I received a job offer in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. I worked for three years at Metro School. Metro is a wonderful school for students with significant cognitive disabilities. I truly treasure the time I spent at Metro. I learned and grew in so many fantastic ways.
 
My next two years were spent at Third Creek Elementary (TCE), right here in ISS. I loved working at TCE, but I realized that it was not my forever school. My sense of humor was just not the right fit for elementary students. 
 
I am starting my sixth year of teaching as a media coordinator here at East Middle School. Already, I have had many wonderful opportunities and such great support! I cannot wait to learn more about my new school and students.
