It is my VISION that all students at Shepherd will be able to read fluently and comprehend what they read by the time they finish Third Grade and that all students will be excited about learning.

It is my MISSION at Shepherd Elementary School to help create an environment that is safe, nurturing and academically challenging to prepare our students for the 21st Century and to be honest, productive citizens.  I want to provide my teachers the training they need to meet the needs of all students.  I also want to create an environment that is welcoming and collaborative.

I have been in education in the Iredell –Statesville School system for 24 years.  I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and my Masters Degree in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University .  For seventeen and one half years I taught in Elementary and Middle School with most of my experience in Middle School.  I have also served as Assistant Principal at Lakeshore Elementary and Lakeshore Middle and Principal at Union Grove Elementary.

I am very excited to be at Shepherd Elementary this year and look forward to working with the staff, students and parents.  I believe all students can learn and that they learn at their own pace.  It is important that each child experiences success in the classroom.  It is our job to determine how each child learns best and to create a learning environment that will ignite a passion for learning.  This takes all of us (parents, teachers, and students) working together to acheive these goals.

Please let me know if I can help you in any way.
