I will integrate the Common Core Math Standards and Practices for Mathematics and the MYP Mathematics curriculum framework. I will organize the courses around units of study which involve investigations, hands-on learning, reflections, and projects that are designed to highlight the MYP Areas of Interaction central to each unit. I will help and encourage students to communicate mathematically, apply knowledge to real-world applications, investigate patterns and experience mathematical discovery. My goal is that students will spend time building a strong conceptual understanding of mathematics while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Progress and learning will be reported through standard based grading using the MYP Assessment Criteria.
