MOUNT MOURNE SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT
To promote and develop a comprehensive Physical Education program appropriate to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study geared to the individual’s needs and to attain the goals of a IB educated student. Our goals are to emphasize lifetime activities; develop physical, mental, emotional and social skills and to invite successful participation in the program.
My name is Scott Sherrill. I teach Level 1 6th grade Physical Education and Health. I am a graduate of Gardner Webb University
where I majored in Physical Education and played Football for the Bulldawgs. I am a National Board Professional Teaching Standards certified Physical Education Teacher. I drive a bus route for MMIB, have my own personal training company APE A
nhancement, and work security for the Carolina Panthers on Game days and Training Camp. I am married to Judy and we have 3 sons, Kaz -GWU graduate/employed by Coca Cola, Kane -Wofford College and plays FB for the Terriers, and Karson ,2012 graduate of LNHS. I formerly coached/taught at North Mecklenburg and LNHS before retiring from coaching after 24 years, 12 of which I was Head Football Coach. I currently serve on the North Carolina Coaches Association Board of Directors.

1.) Students will be able to move in a variety of ways and apply those movements towards lifetime physical activities.
2.) Students will participate in at least one team sport and one individual sport through small-sided games.
