My Classroom Mission
My classroom mission is to help each student be successful in fifth grade and to make an easy transition into middle school, and to choose a career path that he/she will be successful, and then someday become a responsible citizen in our society.
About Me
I graduated from Catawba College with a BA degree in Early Childhood K-3, 4-9 Intermediate Language Arts concentration, Minor in Music, and MA degree in 4-9 Math/Science from Gardner-Webb University.
I have taught fourth, fifth, and eighth grades in the Iredell-Statesville Schools System. Most of my experience has been in fifth grade. I have served on various committees and served as chair on some at the schools I have taught.
Jeff and I have two children - Caroline and Jeffrey. Caroline is a nurse and Jeffrey does landscaping.
During my free time I enjoy gardening, playing the organ, reading, and traveling. I have served as the organist at Western Avenue Baptist for twenty-two years. I enjoy classical, pop, and church music.
The love of learning, the sequestered nooks,
And all the sweet serenity of books.
