Reports
Will Benchmark Asessment Reports always be available on the Monday following district scoring of answer sheets?
The official release day for reports will be Wednesday following the scoring of answer sheets. An "all staff" email will be sent as soon as the reports are released. We strive to get the data in your hands as quickly as possible, if it occurs prior to Wednesday, we will release and notify you by email.
I didn't get the correct data when I ran my report.
Make sure you select the correct Subject. When you go through the drop down menus, the subject is the Benchmark Assessment tested subject.
What's the difference between quarter, school, and system?
Quarter refers to student data for the selected teacher. School provides a comparison across the same grade level or subject for the selected teacher. System provides a comparison across the same grade level or subject for the I-SS district.
What is "student count?"
Student count is the actual number of students who took the Benchmark Assessment.
Why do we not have a comparison for Quarter 0 and Quarter 1?
Quarter 0 refers to baseline assessment reflecting test items from the previous grade and current grade. It is not meant to be compared to other quarters. It is a baseline assessment.
Can you explain the student level report?
The student level report contains two reports: Objective Summary and Objective Item Summary.
Note: with the recent upgrade to version 8.0, you will need to click on the toolbar located above the report to view the Objective Item Summary located on page 2.
The Objective Summary displays the percent correct for each objective by each student. The class average is also displayed for each objective. The Objective Item Summary breaks the objectives down by items and displays student responses for each item.
Student Responses |
Grades 1-12 | Kindergarten |
6 = correct answer | 6 = correct answer |
1 = student answered a | 1 = Level 1 |
2 = student answered b | 2 = Level 2 |
3 = student answered c | 6 = Level 3 or 4 (Proficient) |
4 = student answered d | |
Student percent correct is at the bottom of the Objective Item Summary report and is determined by the number of correct answers out of the total number of answers possible. Count up all of the number of 6's and divide by the total number of items.
Why do I have some "5's" for student responses on the Objective Item Summary Report?
"5's" would indicate the the letter "e" was bubbled on the student answer sheet.
Why are some boxes blank on the student Objective Item Summary?
The student failed to mark a response for that particular item.
Why are there dashes on the Objective Summary Report for some students?
The dashes on the Objective Summary Report indicate the student did not answer the item(s) associated with the objective correctly. If you refer to page 2, the Objective Item Summary Report, you will see that some objectives only have one item assigned to them. If the student missed this item completely, it would be represented by a dash on the Objective Summary Report. Refer to the table above for Student Responses. Remember correct responses are indicated with the number 6 on the Objective Item Summary Report.
I teach Kindergarten and do not understand percent correct.
Percent correct for Kindergarten students only refers to percent proficient; in otherwords levels 3 and 4.
