I was born in New Jersey, raised in upstate New York and moved to the south where I plan to stay. I love the people, climate and proximity to the mountains as well as the coast.

I went to Appalachian State University where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree as a Reading Specialist. I have taught kindergarten to sixth grade as well as small group reading intervention programs as a Title I teacher.

Teaching Language Arts as well as Social Studies for middle school students combines all of my talents and skills allowing me the opportunity to integrate writing, storytelling, and reading great literature all into one dynamic academic block of time!
