"Life throws you curve balls, but you learn to swerve"
My Classroom Mission
The School Counselor will nurture all children and provide a safe and positive learning environment. I will assist all students in achieving their full academic potential by providing opportunities to enhance their emotional, social, and physical
well-being.
About Me
I'm originally from Statesville, NC. I have four siblings in my family of which three are adopted. I love being on the water, traveling, listening to music and playing softball. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Counseling from Appalachian State University. (Go Mountaineers!!) Over the last 10 years, I have worked with children in various settings. I started counseling in the mental health field and worked with adolescents in the group home. Later, I worked with at-risk children in a middle school. I love working with elementary students individually and in group settings. I have been at Lake Norman for 7 years. I really enjoy getting to know all of the students and helping them work through their problems. My goal is to develop a rapport with all students. I want children to feel comfortable coming to me when expressing their feelings or concerns...I am your child's advocate!
