In Literacy Lab we will...
Work together to become great Kindergarten readers. We will learn the parts of a book and how a book works. We will learn all of our letters and their sounds. We will learn to read the pictures and words in different kinds of books. We will do our best and have a great year!
   
 All About Me!

          Hi!  My name is Kelly Prichard! I am the Literacy Lab teacher at Harmony and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children throughout the year as we learn to read!
Just to let you know a little bit about me, I am from Yadkin County and grew up in the Lone Hickory area, which is just about 9 miles from Harmony.  I currently live in the town of Yadkinville with my husband Jeremy (who teaches 4th grade), our son, Ryan, and our dog, Ellie!
I graduated from Forbush High School in 2003 and from there went to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  I had enough college credits from high school that I actually went in as a sophomore.  I was able to complete the program in 3 years.  In May 2006, I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) with a concentration in Psychology. 

            Prior to graduating from UNCG I spent over 1,000 hours in the Guilford County School System at 3 schools doing internships in 4 different classrooms in grades K and 2nd.

            After graduation I moved back home and began searching for a job.  That’s when I found Harmony and have fallen in love with the community, school, and staff.

             Since I love school so much I even decided to go back again! In 2010 I graduated with my Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Gardner-Webb University .
             This will be my 7th year teaching and my first in Literacy Lab and I can’t imagine doing anything else! I am very excited about this year and look forward to all the wonderful opportunities I'll have to help your children learn to read!
