Computer Mission Statement

Teacher and students will strive to reach the goals set forth by the district and state by meeting or exceeding the requirements for middle school.  We will do this by focusing on our essentials and teaching the concepts and functions of Word Processing, Database, Spreadsheet, Desktop Publishing, Power Point, and the Internet.  We will create a learning environment that will build relationships, be relevant through real world situations, and be rigorous to develop long lasting skills for the future.

Strategic Learning Goal

By the end of the semester, we will have covered all of our essentials by using the Standard Course of Study.  This will be measured by students overall average of an 80% or higher.

About Me

I am a native to this area.  I graduated from West Iredell High School in 1994.  I then proceeded to Mitchell Community College for two years to get the basic courses out of the way. Then I transferred to Gardner-Webb University which there I received a bachelors degree in Management Information Systems.  I then proceeded a career in Computer Programming for a little over a year and decided this wasn't for me.  My mom, who is a nurse in the school system, convinced me to get into teaching so I had to go back to school to receive a teaching license in Business Education.  It took me two years to receive that license from Lenoir Rhyne University.  I have a love for school and education so then I decided to go on and I received my MBA in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University in 2006.  I have been teaching since the year 2000 at West Middle and I love it here.
