Attendance Policy

A student must attend school 50% of the school day in order to be counted present for the entire day.  A student must stay at school until or arrive at school by 11:30 a.m. in order to be counted present for the day.

When a student misses school, a written excuse signed by a parent or guardian must be presented to the office on the day returning after an absence.  Parents may also complete an on-line absence note. If the student does not present a note within 2 days, the absence will be coded as "unexcused".

A middle school student may not miss more than 10 days of school a year or must be present more than 94.4% of the days he/she is enrolled.

For the purpose of promotion and retention, 5 tardies and/or early dismissals to/from school equal one day's absence.
