TMS Overview:
With a student body of just over 400 students, TMS averages 19 student per classroom. Ninety percent of our teachers are considered highly qualified as defined by the Federal No Child Left Behind act and a quarter of our staff holds an advanced college degree. We are extremely proud to have five National Board Certified teachers on our staff. With 100 percent of our classrooms connected to the Internet we average one instructional computer for every two students. Here at TMS students are encouraged to take a more active role in their learning - to think outside of the box - with hands-on activities and real-world projects. To aid in this approach students have access to 3 computer labs in addition to a new mobile, wireless lab. SMART boards, interactive writing tablets, and the Qwizdom system all provide fun and interactive educational interface. With our discovery program students can explore various interests in addition to their core academic subjects. We encourage good behavior through our showtime expectations and our PBS incentives. Through both of these we aim to help students develop self-control, character, orderliness, respect and efficiency, among other characteristics.
