When should I stay home?

Sick Children-Guidelines for keeping children home:

    1.  Fever of 100 or more-stay home until fever free for 24 hours.
    2.  Vomiting or diarrhea-stay home until symptoms are gone.
    3.  Strep Throat-stay home for 24 hours after treatment has begun.
    4.  Chicken Pox-stay home until all blisters have formed scabs.
    5.  Cold/Respiratory infections-stay home if child is having constant coughing and/or lots of nasal              drainage even if there is no fever.

As soon as your child is past the worst part of the illness they should return to school.  Do not wait until your child is feeling 100% to send them back.

A good rule of thumb to follow would be to ask yourself, "Would I stay home from work for this?"

When in doubt, feel free to call the school nurse.
