Mission Statement
The mission of Lakeshore Middle School is to provide a safe and orderly educational environment for our students, staff and community. Through quality teaching and leadership we will strive to achieve excellence in student academic endeavors. Students will develop and maintain the values of our society and community, thereby becoming positive and productive citizens.
Core Values
Our core values are aligned with those of the district: a focus on students and learning, a motivated faculty and staff based on stakeholder input, strong partnerships with parents and the community, focus on continuous improvement, management by fact, and focus on results.
Demographics
The current enrollment for Lakeshore Middle is 568 students. The makeup of the student body is 89.9% white; 5.8% African-American; 1.4% Hispanic; 2.6% Asian; Native American 0.3% and 1.0% multiracial. 27% of our current enrollment participate in the free or reduced lunch program.
Program Offerings
Lakeshore Middle offers a standard core curriculum as well as advanced classes in language arts and mathematics. Our “wheel” program offers band, art, computers, music/chorus, health, and physical education classes. Special needs students receive inclusion and/or resource services in language arts and/or mathematics classes depending upon their individual needs. Lakeshore Middle also has a classroom for students with special needs. We currently offer a “Laker Time” that provides academic assistance, clubs, and other enrichment groups
Results
