Health
Students are presented with lifetime guidelines for total wellness (mental, physical, and social aspects). Various topics are offered including drug education, mental health, relationships, family life, safety, nutrition, and fitness. The program is basic in the 6th grade and builds in each of the following years (7th and 8th grades). For example, in the 6th grade, conflict resolution and relationships are studied and acted out in class. In the 7th grade, boating safety and CPR are offered to all students. One of the things 8th graders study in more detail is the family life curriculum which is approved by the state and local school systems.
