History
 
In 1971, the Iredell County Board of Education approved the concept of a third high
school to be located in the western portion of Iredell County to serve high school students coming from Scotts, Monticello, Sharon and Celeste Henkel Elementary schools. Contracts for construction were let in 1972. The formal opening and dedication was held in 1974. The first graduating class from West Iredell High School was the Class of 1975.
 
Iredell-Statesville Schools and West Iredell High School do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national origin, or handicapping condition. Pending prerequisites, all courses and programs are open and available to all students.
