September 27 - AIG Parent Information Table 6-7 PM - Ms. Hogg will present information and answer questions about the Governor's School application process. 

September 21 – October 3 - Teachers will send Ms. Hogg names of nominated students.  Students may also self-nominate in areas not offered at LNHS.  See Ms. Hogg in room 330 or email her at victoria_hogg@iss.k12.nc.us to indicate interest in applying. 

October 1 - 5 - Ms. Hogg will check eligibility for all nominated students. 

October 8 - Ms. Hogg will distribute applications to eligible students.  Ms. Hogg will also notify students who need to take Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) to check for eligibility. 

October 10 - Permission to test forms due to Ms. Hogg (They can be turned in at the front office.  Ask Ms. Grady or Ms. Henderson to put them in Ms. Hogg’s box.)

October 15 - CogAT Testing at ADR (only for students who need additional ability test score).  Students must arrive at 7:45 AM.  Students are not provided with transportation.  Students will receive an excused absence, and Ms. Hogg will notify their teachers. 

October 31 – Applications, Essays, and 2 Recommendations due to Ms. Hogg in room 330 – Please turn them in directly to Ms. Hogg.  

Applications will be reviewed by the District Nomination Committee.  Students will receive notification as to whether or not they will go on to the state level.  The NC Department of Public Instruction will mail notification to students on March 14, 2013.
