    Homework

This year your child can expect to have homework in reading, spelling, and math Monday-Thursday.  As arule I do not grade homework for accuracy, but for completion and effort.  I keep track of daily homework on achart.  At the end of each month studentswho have completed all assignments earn a homework pass.  For each day of missing homework 5 pointswill be deducted from a monthly homework grade in reading and/or math.  Homework is due by 7:40 each morning, noexceptions.  I know this may sound harsh, but a large part of third grade is learning about responsibilities and beingindependent.  Below you will find more ofan explanation for homework in each subject area.  Please let me know if you have anyquestions.  Thank you!

    Math
Nightly homework will usually come from our math workbook.  Students may occasionally have a worksheet inplace of a workbook assignment.  Beforeunit tests I will typically send a study guide to help prepare.

*Students will also be responsible for getting their parent's signature in their student planners on a nightly basis.

    * Parents are expected to encourage their child to complete their homework on a nightly basis.

*When a student is absent homework can be turned in on the day they return.
