According to Linda O’Brien’s How to Get Good Grades in 10 Easy Steps, students should do the following:

 

1.   1.     Believe in Yourself - Recognize your talents and abilities and visualize yourself succeeding.

2.   2.     Be Organized - Use an assignment notebook/agenda/iCal. Keep all class notes together and keep your
              backpack neat.

3.   3.     Manage Your Time Well - Use class time wisely. Create a study plan.

      4.     Be Successful in the Classroom - Be on time and prepared for class. DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

5.   5.     Take Good Notes - Be an active listener. Recognize important information and make your notes
              readable for you. Review your notes.
6.   6.     Know How to Read a Textbook- Scan, Read, Review.
7.  7.         Study Smart - Find a good place to study. Use tricks to memorize information. Studying for a test is
              more than just reading.
8.   8.     Use Test-Taking Strategies - Be prepared! Mark questions you want to return to. Check over your
              answers.

9.   9.      Reduce Test Anxiety - Start studying early! Mentally practice the testing experience and relax.

10. 10.    Get Help When You Need It - When you have a problem, do something to resolve it. Don’t wait until
              it’s too late.
