Mr. Paslay is 1993 graduate of West Iredell High School. He continued his education earning a Bachelor’s degree in History and receiving his secondary teaching certificate from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Upon graduating he took a teaching/coaching position back at his alma mater. During this time at WIHS, he completed his Masters of Administration at Gardner Webb University. After serving 9 years in the classroom as a U.S. History teacher,he became the Freshman Academy Director of WIHS. He left West in 2010 to pursue a similar position at South Iredell High School. While working at SIHS, he implemented many positive changes that have helped to make the school a North Carolina School of Distinction. Among being the school Focus Learning Community Director, he also held a district position overseeing the other 4FLC-directors at ISS high schools. Mr. Paslay is very excited about and looking forward to this new endeavor as principal of Troutman Middle School.
Mr. Paslay has been married for 7 years to his wife,Sarah. They have two children together, Caroline(5) and Bryson(3). He has a love for football, especially for the Tennessee Volunteers and Dallas Cowboys.
