James

Principal: Dr. James is native of Iredell County and a product of the Iredell-Statesville school system. Residing in the county with his wife, Tammy, of 25 years, and daughter, Crystal, Dr. James has attended Mitchell College, UNCC, and Gardner-Webb University. He holds the following degrees: A.A. B.A., M.B.A., M.A.T., M.S.A., EdS and a PhD in Education, Leadership, and Cultural Foundations.  Dr. James has graduated summa cum laude twice and has been initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor fraternity. Active in the community with church and youth programs, Dr. James enjoys seeing students succeed. Dr. James was reviewed by several leading magazines and has had numerous articles written about him. Dr. James began his career in education in 2002 with the ISS system as a special education teacher at Statesville High School, and later started the district’s first Cisco networking academy at Lake Norman High School. He left the success of this growing program to become Assistant Principal at South Iredell in 2005.
