Greetings members of the Nighthawk Nation, this is Principal Ivey with your weekly update for the weekof May 19, 2013. First, I would like to congratulate all of theLevel II and III drama student as well as Ms. Hicks on their outstanding performancesthis weekend. Thank you for all of your hard work and for showcasing thenumerous talents of the Nighthawk Nation. I would also like to thank everyone who helpedout with Relay for Life this weekend. Thank you for participating in thisamazing event and for displaying the IB Learner Profile Trait of Caring. Youare awesome! Next, Monday is an A day and it is also ourlast regular school day before we begin some of our state testing. On Tuesday Level I and II students will takethe state Measures of Student Learning Test for Science and our Level IIIstudents will take the online Science EOG. On Wednesday all students will take the stateMeasures of Student Learning Test for Humanities. Students are reminded to getplenty of sleep and eat a good breakfast before taking these tests. Thursday and Friday will be back on regularschedule and these days will also serve as make up days for any student who mayhave missed their state test on Tuesday and Wednesday. Since we are on the topic of testing. We still need your help with proctors for ourEnd of Grade testing on May 30-31. If you or any members of your family arefree from 8am until noon on May 30 or 31, please contact Paula Huffman tovolunteer. I would also like to remind parents that cafeteriacharges and student fees need to be paid. If you have charges for the cafeteriaplease contact Mrs. Moore at 704-873-5734and for student fees please contact the main office and ask for Mrs. Gibson.

| 5/12/13 | Greetings members of the Nighthawk Nation, this is Principal Ivey with your weekly update for the week of May 12, 2013. First, I would like to wish all of the Nighthawk moms a happy Mother’s Day. Thank you for all that you do and for being such outstanding mothers. I would also like to say thank you to all who helped out with the field trips and Renaissance Festival this past week. These events would not be possible without your dedication and support. Next, Monday is a B day and there are several clubs meeting after school this week. Please check our website for a complete list of all our outstanding after school activities. On Thursday there will be a Student Council Meeting after school in Mrs. Brnkley’s room and students will also take their Language B final exams on this Thursday and Friday. Please make sure you get plenty of rest and don’t forget to study. Also on Thursday and Friday, the P.E. Physical Activity Journals will be due. Parents, please remember that you will need to sign the journals prior to your child turning it in. Lastly, Northview is in desperate need of your help! We still need proctors for our End of Grade testing on May 30-31. If you or any member of your family is free from 8am until noon on May 30 or 31, please call Paula Huffman to volunteer. | 5/5/13 | Greetings members of the Nighthawk Nation and Buenos días, this is Principal Ivey with your weekly update for the week of Cinco de Mayo, 2013. First, I would like to remind everyone that this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please take the time to show our teachers how much we appreciate all that they do to make our school such an outstanding place. Next, Monday is an A day and there are several clubs meeting after school on Monday. Please check our website for a list of all the clubs meeting this week. On Tuesday evening the Chorus students and Mrs. Gaither will host the Spring Chorus Concert at 7:00PM at South Iredell High School. Please come out and enjoy the musical talents of our singing Nighthawks. Also this week the Level II students will depart on their field trip on Thursday morning and our Level III students leave Friday morning for their field trip. Lastly, on Friday morning, we will host our annual Renaissance Festival for the Level I students. This is an outstanding event that would not be possible without your help. Parents there are several items that still need to be donated for the Renaissance Festival to be a huge success for our students. We need: · 24/36 packs of water · Large containers of canned whole tomatoes · Paper towels · Gallon jugs of water · The use of canopy tents for this event Please drop off donations at the main office of Northview or contact Ms. Brinkley or Mr. Reid for more information.
