My Classroom Mission
Every student in my English classes will work towards earning an 85 or higher in the class. In AP English Language and Composition, each student will work towards earning a 3 or higher on the AP Exam that they will take in May 2013. In OCS English, students will work toward growth, a research paper, and presenting a speech at the end of the semester. We will all work towards our personal best at all times.

About Me
I am gladly starting my third year of teaching English. I am thrilled to be a greyhound at Statesville High. I could not dream of doing anything else with my life. I am welcoming the challenge of AP English with open arms. I think my recent college experience, being a past AP student, and extra trainings that I went to over the summer have helped prepared me to be the most successful with my AP kiddos.
I have been a citizen of the Iredell-Statesville School System since I was seven years old. I actually graduated with honors from West Iredell High school with a semester completed for college, and then I went straight to Appalachian State University to earn a Bachelor's degree in Communications and English with a minor in Religion.
I am currently working towards my Master's in Secondary Education English at UNC-Charlotte. I then plan to go straigt into a Master's of Arts in Teaching at UNC-Charlotte as well. I greatly enjoy being back in my home town and making an impact where I know it truly matters.
When I am not teaching I enjoy watching the Appalachian Mountaineers play football, enjoying the outdoors with my husband, playing with our pug, Lottie, shopping, and reading.
