Most of the clubs at East Middle are performance classes which meet during Knightime, the 45 minute period during 3rd Block.  

Battle of the Books - Joanna Jester
This state-wide competition at the middle school level is held annually in the spring.  Throughout the year students prepare for the competition by reading from the state list of specific titles.   
 
Chorus - Nichole Tilley
Students interested in choral performance take this class and perform several times during the year.   
 
Helping Friends - Charlotte Pierce
These caring and enthusiastic students are peer helpers in the TMD and Autistic classes.
 
Honors Band - Charles Brantley
 
This class is for interested band students.  The group performs several times during the year. 
 
Junior Beta Club - Renee Moore
Students are inducted into Junior Beta Club each March based on high academic standards and character.  Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students are eligible for induction after the first semester.  This is not a Knightime class.   
 
MathCounts - Allen Simmons
 
This is a national enrichment program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement.  Students compete against other middle schools in February.   
 
KNN - Jane Lentz

KNN, Knights News Network, is our student-produced school news program.  Students in this performance class produce a live news program airing on In-House television at 8:30 every Friday morning.
 
Robotics - Tori Goldrick
Students learn about science and technology and compete with other district teams in the spring.   This is a Knightime class. 
 
Student Council - Susan Peacock
 
This service group is open to interested students and usually has a membership of about 25 students.  Although the group meets periodically during Knightime, it is not a Knightime class.  Student Council helps with a variety of projects including civic projects sponsored by United Way, rising 6th grade orientation, and teacher appreciation.   
 
Yearbook - Sherry Chapman
This class puts together Excalibur, the East Middle yearbook.
