In addition to achieving proficiency on end-of-course assessments and other state and district required assessments, students who graduate beginning the school year of 2012-13 are required to complete a Graduation Project which serves as a performance-based assessment for students to demonstrate what they know and are able to do as a result of their cumulative education. The Graduation Project provides the opportunity for students to apply concepts, knowledge, and 21 Century skills so that they become responsible and productive citizens. The Graduation Project encourages students and educators to explore the rigor, relevance, and relationships essential to a successful high school experience.
