Kindergarten is a key year during which the foundation of learning is set. As kindergarten teachers, we strive to make that foundation as strong as possible. We utilize many hands-on activities that involve the children in a variety of learning experiences. Our new math program covers a number of topics which are supported by manipulatives, educational games and technology software. The children are taught the beginning stages of reading through a very structured phonics program. Phonics teaches the sounds of letters and how to blend them together. It has been a great success in preparing the children to read! Specials such as Computer Lab, Music, Art, Library, Physical Education, and Reading Buddies enhance the curriculum. We also take a number of field trips throughout the year which parallel our units. We create an educational, fun and exciting school year for our students!
