We use WIN (What Individuals Need) Time for Remediation and Enrichment Activities. This 6th period is the last 59 minutes of the school day.
Students are selected for remedial “Success Classes” based on their final grades, EOG scores, and teacher recommendations. Students are administratively placed in these classes for the year but progress is evaluated quarterly. These classes are Reading Remediation, Read 180, and Math Remediation. Students placed in these WIN classes are not eligible for Year Long Enrichment Discoveries. Placement decisions for this group may not be available until mid summer.
Year Long Enrichment Activities are listed below. Students may apply for these spots by completing the application. If selected, it is a year long commitment and will not be changed. Students may only be in one WIN class. Should a student choose to apply for more then one WIN class, the review team will select which WIN class he/she will be placed in. This will be a binding decision.
Students not assigned a “Success Class” or who have not been selected for a “Year Long WIN class will rotate Enrichment Activities among their grade level teachers every 9 weeks.
