Hi and welcome to NB Mills Elementary!!!  I am honored to be part of this school and community!  This is my 23rd year in education, with 21 of them being in public schools.  I spent 19 of them teaching and three and a half years in leadership, as an Instructional Facilitator and as an Assistant Principal.  I have been with the Iredell-Statesville Schools for many years and plan on finishing my career here.  ISS is very student, community, and staff focused.  While caring for the whole child, we also want to ensure that they receive the best education possible. 
 
I come to NB Mills offering my hard work ethic, my innovative ideas for learning, my high ethical standards, and my love for children.  I know together, school and community, we will form a loving and caring school for our students and families where our children can thrive emotionally, physically, and academically.

I am ecstatic to be able to get back to where I started from!  I began my educational journey at N. B. Mills!  I know that much has changed from the time when I was a student here but I still get a feeling of pride as I walk down the hallways.  I am looking forward to offering my very best to assure that our students will feel that same sense of pride as they enter our building.  This is home and we will work together to keep our environment safe, orderly and conducive for learning.

 

I graduated from UNC-Pembroke with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education.  Later, I received a Master’s Degree in Business Education from UNC-Greensboro, and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University.  I was in the classroom for 15 years.  I served as Assistant Principal at Statesville Middle School, West Iredell High School, and for the last four and one-half years at Troutman Elementary School.
