Mission: The mission of Lake Norman Elementary School is to nurture all students in a safe, caring learning environment. We will provide rigorous academic challenges and equip students with the necessary skills to become successful citizens. This will happen through collaboration and communication between home, school, and community.
Core Values: We provide student centered classrooms with a focus on learning. We are committed to continuous improvement and success for all.
Demographics: Lake Norman Elementary serves 600 kindergarten through fifth grade students living in the southern end of Iredell County. Our school is comprised of 88% Caucasian, 2% African American, 3% Hispanic, 2% Multi-racial, 4% Asian, and 1% American Indian. We have a 5% free and reduced lunch rate.
Program Offerings: Lake Norman Elementary offers a rigorous, child-centered curriculum through differentiated instruction designed to meet the needs of all students. We use the Positive Behavior Support plan with our students. In this plan, we teach students to be safe, respectful, and responsible. We provide enhancements in the areas of music, art, physical education, media, technology and guidance. Please check the Activities page for the many extra curricular offerings at LNE.
Results: Lake Norman Elementary has achieved the recognition of “School of Excellence” for the past seven years. Our school is currently recognized as an “Honor School of Excellence” with a performance composite of 94.1.
