Vision: Our vision is to maintain and improve School of Distinction status, continue to meet AYP standards, and assure high academic growth for all students.

Mission: We at Harmony Elementary School will work as a team to meet the needs of all 21st Century learners while developing responsible and caring students.

Core Values: Performance excellence is driven by requirements, high student expectations, customer needs, decisions based on data, alignment of goals and systems, and research based best teaching practices.Continual improvement must engage staff and community.

Demographics: K – 5th grades. Certified staff – 40; Classified staff- 35. Student enrollment – 506; White – 358 (70.7%), Hispanic – 97 (19%), Black – 33 (6.5%), Multi-Racial – 14 (2.7%), and Asian – 2(<1%).Exceptional Children – 71 (14%), ESL – 82 (16%), Academically Gifted – 8 (1.5%).Free lunch – 240, Reduced lunch – 55 (58%).

Program Offerings: K-5N.C. Standard Course of Study;  Five Star Prime Time; K-2 Saxon Phonics and Math; Grades 1,3,4,5 Excel Math; K-2 Literacy Lab; Accelerated Reading Program; ESL and EC pullout and self-contained services;  Character Education; Junior Great Books;  Terrific Kids; Open Book Computer Assisted Language Program; Cornerstone and Rigby Computer Assisted Reading Programs.

Results: 2007 School of Distinction; 2005 Honor School of Excellence; 2004,2003 School of Distinction; 2002 School of Progress;Four consecutive years of meeting 13 of 13 AYP targets; Five consecutive years of meeting growth standards; Continuous Proficiency Growth – 54.4% (1997) – 77.8% (2006).includes change inMath Standards -'06.
