Art Club

Art Club is open to any student at Northview. The Art Club exists to provide a place for students to create art and to encourage each others' artistic skills and processes.

Meetings will take place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 2:50pm-4:00pm in Ms. White's room. The art club will not meet on early release days.

Hope to see you there! Make sure you arrange for a parent or guardian to pick you up at 4:00.

Chess Club

Students will learn how to play chess and will practice playing with a variety of partners. Students will participate in district competitions as appropriate and as the budget allows. Chess Club meets on Mondays 2:50pm-4:00pm in Ms. Campbell's room.

Alice: Computer Programming

Alice is a tool designed to introduce student's to object-oriented programming. It allows students to learn programming concepts. In Alice's interactive interface, students drag and drop graphic tiles to create a program. By manipulating the objects in their virtual world, students gain experience with all the programming constructs typically taught in an introductory programming course. Meetings will be on Wednesdays, 2:40pm-4:00pm in the media center.

Creative Writing ClubIf you are interested in writing, reading or illustration of any kind, the Creative Writing Club is the place for you! Whether you love fiction, poetry, journaling, traditional illustration, graphic novels or Mangas--or anything in between--you'll find a place here to practice your craft and grow as an artist. Meetings will be on Mondays from 2:50pm-4:00pm in the computer lab on the main hall. All interested students are welcome to attend!

Eco Warriors Club

Our goal is to not only educate students about recycling but to put those principles in action as well. We will meet every Thursday till 4:00pm to collect recyclable items, separate them and in some cases create new items. We will practice the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Each member has the opportunity to earn 10% of their Community Service Hours through working with Eco Warriors. Come join us for some good green fun!

Jazz Band

This group studies and performs a variety of literature, including swing and jazz. Each year, the group performs at the spring and winter concerts. Special emphasis is placed on developing improvisation skills and ensemble playing. Membership requires a high degree of musical skill and personal discipline. The Jazz Band meets on Monday from 2:50pm-4:15pm in Ms. Redling's room.

 
 Language B Club

Language B Club Activity Day meetings are generally formal discussions of club business.  Social gathering, is an opportunity to socialize, practice Spanish-French, and participate in cultural activities meant to extend language practice beyond what is covered in class.  Activities may include games, short soap operas, cooking classes, and films in Spanish-French; organization of civic projects, tutoring, community service, field trips, and fund raising; group readings of poetry, newspapers, and mythology; crafts, cultural celebrations, and much, much more.  The club is student centered and all who participate are encouraged to share ideas for future activities. Model U.N.Model United Nations is a fun and educational club that teaches students about the workings of the United Nations. Students step into the shoes of the ambassadors from UN member states to debate current issues on the U.N. agenda. Meetings are on Thursdays from 2:50pm-4:00pm in Mr. Evan's room.

Musical Theater Club
Musical Theater Club is an opportunity for students to work together on a combination of music and acting. Students will choreograph their own performances, with musical and acting guidance from Mrs. Gaither and Ms. Worley.  Students will rehearse during club meeting times.  Dancers, singers, and actors are welcome! The Musical Theater Club meets every other Wednesday from 2:50pm-4:00pm in Ms. Gaither's room.
