Middle Years Programme Promotion Standards

 

Level 1 (Grade 6): student fails 2 or more classes OR student fails Math or Language A class.

 

 Student fails Teacher Standards and Passes EOGs

  • Student can either be retained at the IB school in current grade or go back to home school with promotion.

Student fails Teacher Standard and fails EOGs

  • Student must return to home school, which will determine promotion with guidance from IB principal.

Student fails to meet the IB criterion minimum score in all 8 IB subject areas

   Student must return to home school.

 

Student fails due to attendance

  • Student will be retained or promoted at IB principal discretion.

Student fails to complete community service requirement

  • Student must return to home school.

Level 2 (Grade 7): student fails 2 or more classes OR student fails any of the following three classes: Math, Language A or Language B.

 

Student fails Teacher Standards and Passes EOGs

  • Student can either be retained at the IB school in current grade or go back to home school with promotion.

Student fails Teacher Standard and fails EOGs

  • Student must return to home school, which will determine promotion with guidance from IB principal.

  • Student may not continue onto South Iredell for the Middle Years Programme, but may return to traditional home school as a ninth-grader.

Student fails Teacher Standard and fails EOGs

  • Student may not continue onto South Iredell for the Middle Years Programme.

Student fails to meet the IB criterion minimum score in all 8 IB subject areas

  • Student may not continue onto South Iredell for the Middle Years Programme.

Student fails due to attendance

  • Student will be retained or promoted at IB principal discretion.

Student fails to complete community service requirement

  • Student may not continue onto South Iredell for the Middle Years Programme.
 Level 4 (Grade 9): student fails any 1 course.

 

 Student fails Teacher Standards and Passes EOCs

  • Student must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails Teacher Standard and fails EOGs

  • Student must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails to meet the IB criterion minimum score in all 8 IB subject areas

  • Student must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails due to attendance

  • Student must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails to complete community service hour requirement

  • Student must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Level 5 (Grade 10): student fails any 1 course.

 

Student fails Teacher Standards and Passes EOCs

  • Student may not continue into the Diploma Programme and must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails Teacher Standard and fails EOGs

  • Student may not continue into the Diploma Programme and must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails to meet the IB criterion minimum score in all 8 IB subject areas

  • Student may not continue into the Diploma Programme and must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails due to attendance

  • Student may not continue into the Diploma Programme and must return to traditional home school (failing students zoned for SIHS will be enrolled in traditional classes).

Student fails to demonstrate sufficient growth through the Personal Project
