Demographics:
Cool Spring Elementary currently has 410 students enrolled.  Our school population is comprised of 72% White, 9% African American, 13% Hispanic, 3% Asian and 2% Multi-Racial.  We have a broad range of socio-economic levels in our school, with 51% of our students on free and reduced lunch. 
 
Program Offerings:
Our school focuses on the core curriculum in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.  We use the Letterland phonics program in grades kindergarten through second grade.  Guided reading is taught in all grades.  In addition, we offer Exceptional Children's Services, Robotics, Battle of the Books, School News Video Production, in-school tutoring, Reading Buddies, and Accelerated Reader. Cool Spring is a Positve Behavior Support (PBIS) School. 
 
Results:
Cool Spring Elementary School has been recognized as a North Carolina School of Distinction with all No Child Left Behind AYP targets having been met over the last six years.  Cool Spring has been recognized for High Growth for the 2011-2012 school year.  Our attendance last year was 96.76%.
